Christophe Clarethas just presented its most delicious watch, theX-TREM-1 Chocolat.Produced in red gold and grade 5 titanium and with a chocolate-colored PDV treatment, this piece combines the technical precision of an extraordinary model with the elegant cocoa-colored finish. The brown alligator strap finishes giving character to this model presented for the first time in 2012.
El X-TREM-1 Chocolat watchIt has a floating tourbillon inclined at an angle of 30º; mounted on a three-dimensional curvex titanium main plate, equipped with an hour and minute indication system absolutely different from traditional ones. Two small hollow steel spheres, insulated with sapphire tubes on the left and right of the case, move without mechanical connection, thanks to magnetic fields. The presence of these magnetic fields, traditionally enemies of mechanical watchmaking, became the revolution of these watches that were saved by a system composed of two small steel spheres (emptied to make them lighter) that, isolated inside two sapphire tubes located to the right and left of the edge, move driven by the magnetic fields generated by two miniature magnets dragged by cables. This extremely flexible thread is made up of hundreds of Dyneema nanofibers assembled in a highly resistant polyethylene gel, capable of withstanding a traction of one kilo with a thickness less than that of a hair (4 hundredths of a millimeter in diameter).
The tourbillon ofX-TREM-1 Chocolate, equipped with a double ceramic ball bearing to increase its resistance to shocks, is inclined 30 degrees, making it more visible to the user. Manually wound, the watch is powered by two barrels. The first reserved for the tourbillon, the second for the presentation of the hours and minutes. The presentation roll, for its part, is regulated by a special escapement, which seeks time information in the time roll. Composed of an anchor that releases a tooth from the anchor wheel of the presentation gear every 25 seconds, this is activated by a bed linked to the time gear. As soon as one of the barrels reaches the end of its barrel's power reserve, the escapement interrupts the movement of its neighbor. This configuration allows the tourbillon and presentation drives to be independent from an energy point of view, avoiding disturbances, optimizing the power reserve and giving ideal precision to the watch.
