How to Build a Sandbox with Integrated Seating in 5 Steps, a sandbox is not only a great place for your children to learn the art of building sand castles, playing with trucks and sharing; It is also a meeting point for the whole family and especially a fraternal meeting between father and son, a place where they can have fun and let their imagination fly.
Step 1: Cut and Paint

You will need to cut and paint each wood surface used all layers of wood must be treated to withstand the outdoors.
Exception for repositories and docking station. It is easier to paint all components before assembly.
Cutting list:
- 3 Wooden Sleepers – 200 x 50 x 1662 mm (base)
- 17 Deck Boards – 90 x 22 x 1469 mm (docking base)
- 12 side slats – 90 x 45 x 264 mm
- 4 Side lengths (A) 90 x 22 x 1620 mm
- 4 Side Lengths (B) 90 x 22 x 1470mm
- 18 Decking Boards – 90 x 22 x 1600 mm (lid cover)
- 4 Backrest support – 90 x 45 x 590mm
- 4 Seat slats – 90 x 45 x 290 mm
Step 2: Make the base

Place the three wooden sleepers on a flat surface spaced evenly using one of the deck boards as a guide for positioning to final length. Next, screw the 17 decking boards spaced approximately 3mm apart
Step 3: Make the sides

Take 8 pieces of side batten and butt them together to make the corner keys and screw them to the base section. Next you can add the side pieces (A and B) which are reinforced in the middle with a side batten length. Screw the sides to the corner braces. At this point, the litter box will simply be enormously heavy rather than essentially immovable. Now is a good time to move it to its intended position in the yard.
Step 4: Drainage and weed

I didn't get a good photo of this step (the photo is pretty late in the construction process), but it's pretty easy/self-explanatory: line the base and sides with Shade Cloth using a staple gun. This keeps the sand in place but allows drainage of rainwater, toddler water, etc.
Step 5: Lid/seat

Use the lid deck boards on one end screw three boards together. Lay out the next three boards that join at the bottom with a seat slat on each end. Join these new sections with hinges so they can fold back into a seat. Finally, the last platform boards are attached to the backrest supports and hinged from the bottom. Repeat the process on the other side to make the two integrated seats.
Step 6: Sandpit completed!

Fill with washed river sand and let the kids playin it!
