Do you have a discarded key and don't know what to do with it? Then see how to adapt a wrench for all types of adjustments, which will be of great help when carrying out any work.
Steps on how to adapt a wrench for all types of adjustments
#1.
First, the area where the cuts needed to adapt this key will be made is marked with a marker.

#2.
For this, this piece of metal and a hexagonal thread will be welded.

#3.
The thread is placed on top of the piece and the part that will be cut is marked (use the thread as a mold)

#4.
Using a circular saw and a file, the cut is shaped.

#5.
This part will take time so be patient.

#6.
Remember that filing metal creates particles that can be toxic, we recommend using a mask for this part.

#7.
Now that we have the piece ready, we use two others that will weaken the mechanism that we plan to attach to the key.

#8.
We weld the pieces on the sides and inside it we install the initially molded piece.

#9.
Use pliers or clamps to position the die-cast part.

#10.
Now weld the piece to the key to have it static.
Note that this piece was cut to the size that the key required to pass the bolts that the mechanism is going to use.

#11.
We let the solder cool and then continue.

#12.
This is the nut and the screw, based on these the mechanism will work.

#13.
As you see in the image below, the bolt must fit within the space left and then be welded and allowing the screw to enter and exit with stability.

#14.
Weld very carefully so as not to damage the bolt.

#15.
On the other side, the initial welding left this ugly mark, it must be filed to reduce the marks.

#16.
With a polisher and metal disc it is done faster.

#17.
Well now all that remains is to test the mechanism using this metal wedge that adjusts to the space left thanks to the push that the screw will generate when it is adjusted or otherwise, when it is loosened it will free up space.

#18.
It should look something like the image.

#19.
Now we move on to the last part, placing a plate to stabilize the mechanism.

#20.
We drill 2 entry points for small screws

#21.
And with some flat head screws, we secure the iron to the mechanism installed on the key.

#22.
Now we tested it with a tool and as you can see, the inserted wedge manages to adjust or loosen the screws without any problem.

Now we leave you the complete video tutorial so you can see the entire preparation process in detail:
