How to Build DIY Wooden Boxes

After cutting the various panels that form the box, start by gluing the 4 side pieces, overlapping them two by two, holding them in position with corner clamps.

• Step 1: Apply wood glue to the joints of the side panels and secure them with corner clamp tools to ensure perfect 90-degree angles while the glue dries.
• Step 2: Next, glue the remaining two panels (the bottom and any lid). Press them onto the previously assembled part using common clamps, with scrap pieces in between to distribute the force evenly. A set of quality screw clamps makes this step much easier.
• Step 3: For a clean finish, sand all edges smooth. You can add a handle or a simple finger hole for easy opening. Consider adding a coat of varnish or wood oil to protect the wood.
