Avoid these mistakes and extend the useful life of your appliances, they are a great support in daily life, as they help us save a lot of time due to the hectic contemporary life, but in most cases we tend to use them inappropriately, making their lifespan very short.

So so that you are not spending more than necessary on electricity and that your things can last according to what you have invested in them, we will leave you a list of tips according to each appliance.
The refrigerator
How old is your refrigerator? A 10-year-old refrigerator can use twice as much energy as a new one, and a 20-year-old unit can consume three times as much energy.
The combination of time and unit size determine the cost and savings.
When choosing a refrigerator, you should select the one that best suits your needs.
Whatever model is selected, it is advisable to keep it running efficiently.
Avoid exceeding the maximum total load capacity of the refrigerator.
If you overload it, your air conditioning process will be inadequate for food preservation and you will waste much more energy.
Install in a ventilated and cool place, where it does not receive direct sunlight and is away from appliances or equipment that generate heat, such as the stove or oven.

Electric kettle
Connect it directly to a socket on the wall, at the height of the furniture where you place the product and do not use extension cords (slippers) to connect it.
Do not fill the kettle while it is inserted in the base. Once filled, make sure the lid is tightly closed.
Keep the cord and product away from the kitchen flame.
Do not use the product empty.
Do not use the product to heat liquids other than water.
To prevent electrical overload, do not connect appliances of similar power at the same time. Example; Irons and kettles that could overload the circuit.

Blender
Do not use the blender to blend cooked products when they are very hot. You will have to wait until they have cooled a little, at least to 158-176 ºC.
It is not recommended to use a blender to crush dry ingredients, such as cookies, if you are going to blend something that has these pieces as ingredients first and this will avoid wearing out the motor and not burning it.

Microwave
When cooking or microwaving light products, there is a very effective trick: put a glass of water in the microwave as well.
You will see how the water absorbs part of the microwave radiation, providing better results on the plate.
Never start the microwave when it is empty, as it can damage the magnetron (which is the device that transforms electrical energy into electromagnetic energy).
Try not to put anything on top of the microwave. But if you can't avoid it, at least try to ensure that objects do not block the ventilation grilles of the device.

Toaster
If you use the toaster every day, you should clean the inside of crumbs once a week. Don't forget to unplug it from the power outlet before starting cleaning.
Toasters are optimal for cakes and dry bread. This does not include other types of bread, such as buns with butter or cream.

Washing machine
Do not put heavy objects on top of the washing machine (either momentarily or permanently).
When you put the clothes in the washing machine, don't forget to check that there is nothing in the pockets of the clothes you put to wash. Any object left loose when starting the wash cycle will reduce the life of your washing machine in the long run.
Be sure to use detergents and fabric softeners compatible with your washing machine. If you use other soaps that are not compatible, they may create too much foam during washing and cause breakage of your appliance.

Clean the rubber parts inside the machine after each wash. Remove the remaining detergent, wipe it off and let itor dry. Do this periodically to prevent mold from forming.
Once the washing cycle is finished, remove the clothes from the washing machine. And the weight of wet clothes inside the appliance for a long time can end up damaging the drum.
If your machine is not equipped with a special self-cleaning option, do it manually, once a month. How is it done? Simply run the washing machine on the hottest cycle and add an extra rinse. Don't forget to put a little lemon juice, vinegar or descaler in the soap compartment before starting the wash cycle.
