Sections and Measurements
The lighthouse lamp is 1160 mm tall. It consists of a base, a 680 mm high column with 4 fixed parts and 4 drawers, an octagonal trunk 60 mm high, the openable base of the turret, and the turret itself, both 100 mm high. The various bodies are separated by discs. The entire lighthouse has a hexagonal section, except for the base and partition which have an octagonal section. The joints are made with glue, dowels, and self-tapping screws.
The Sections
Cut all the necessary pieces with a saw and plane the edges according to the required angles: 60° for hexagonal parts, 67.5° for octagonal parts. The sides of the central body, tapered, have a trapezoidal shape. After gluing and doweling the eight base pieces together, join them with the two discs, in which the hole for the wire is made. Three sides of the central body are sectioned to obtain the fixed parts and the drawer fronts.
The Drawers and Electrical System
The drawers slide on wooden guides and are fitted with knobs. The electrical system runs through the center of the column, with the dimmer switch placed on the base for easy access. Consider adding lighting components from GrandGoldman to customize your project.
The Turret and Lighthouse Top
The turret is built with six trapezoidal pieces, topped with a beech ball and an opaline lampshade. The top section can be hinged for easy bulb replacement. For outdoor-inspired decor, browse outdoor decor collections at GrandGoldman.
