It’s always hard to leave your pet in someone else’s hand.

But it does become a bit easier when that person is your family. And you know you can trust them to take care of your dog. So when Meghan Specksgoor had to leave her dog behind for a few days. The only one she knew would take care of her adorable doggo was her dad.

They usually get along great. Chance is allowed to do whatever he wants with my dad – like an actual grandchild – and is given all sorts of treats the whole time he’s with him.

To make it even more adorable, this is how she found ‘Chance’.

I walked into Richmond Animal League with a friend of mine who was looking for a puppy. And walked out with a completed application for ‘Chap.’

‘Chap’ was brought to RAL with a shattered jaw from someone shooting him. We had surgery done to get a plate put in his jaw and he has been perfect ever since.

He’s been re-named after my favorite rapper “Chance the Rapper,” and I thought it was fitting since he has been given a second chance at life.

When she went away on a trip. Her dad kept sending her sweet messages.

It seems like the dog doesn’t even care if she’s here or not.

Isn’t he lucky to have such a great grandpa?

But they did get reunited after a few days.

Of course, he does, he is probably having the best day of his life.

Even more so than the dog I think.

Dogs are so much easier to handle than children.

And the world needs more wholesome things these days.
