Shopper Gets Mistaken As An Employee At GameStop And Gets Reported 2026

History has shown it is not recommended to wear anything similar to the uniform, of employees, of a famous retail store. You will almost always get mistaken for an employee and your shopping experience may not be as smooth because you will keep getting interrupted. Many will realize that you are not an employee but are just shopping at the place, but some will refuse to believe you and create a major scene. Something similar happened in today’s story.

Reddit user b4dkarm4 is on his way from the office and decided to make a stop at a Gamestop with his friend. They wanted to shop for some games. OP was wearing a polo shirt and an ID around his neck. While looking for games, OP got approached by a kid who enquired about a specific game and then proceeded to order OP to get that particular game for him. The kid obviously got a rejection so he left and got his mom.

The mom exploded on OP and complained about him to the manager. The manager simply told her OP did not work at the store, and she was left speechless.

Why don’t they just ask? The conversation should always start with “Excuse me, do you work here?”. Even if you are sure the person you are approaching is a staff member, just ask. It won’t hurt anyone, in fact, it would make things really easy.

But no, Karens have to learn it the hard way and this one will learn it the same way too.
