Making fresh juice at home is one of the simplest ways to enjoy fruit at its best, and this natural pineapple juice is no exception. With just ripe pineapple, cold water and an optional touch of sugar, you get a bright, refreshing drink that captures all the tropical sweetness of the fruit.

The whole process takes only about 10 minutes of hands-on work, then the juice chills for an hour so it is perfectly cold when you serve it. It is a lovely change from eating pineapple plain and a great way to get more fruit into your day.

How to Make Pineapple Juice Step by Step

1. Separate the pineapple flesh

Peel the pineapple and cut it until you have 500 grams of flesh. Trim away any brown spots so the pulp is clean and ready to blend.

2. Add the water and sugar

Put the pineapple into the jug of a blender, then add 500 ml of cold water and 10 grams of sugar. Leave the sugar out entirely if your pineapple is already sweet.

3. Blend the juice

Blend everything until the pineapple is completely broken down and the mixture looks smooth and even. This only takes a short burst on a high setting.

4. Strain the juice

Pour the blended mixture through a fine sieve or strainer to remove the fibrous bits. Press gently on the solids so you capture as much juice as possible.

5. Chill for one hour

Transfer the strained juice to a jug and refrigerate it for about 1 hour. Chilling it well makes the drink far more refreshing when you serve it.

Tips for the Best Pineapple Juice

Choose a ripe pineapple

A ripe pineapple brings plenty of natural sweetness, which may mean you can skip the sugar altogether. Taste a piece before blending and adjust from there.

Sweeten to taste

You can prepare this juice with or without sugar, or use another sweetener to taste according to your preferences. Add a little at a time so you do not overpower the fruit.

Serve it well chilled

You can drink the juice as it is or serve it over ice to make it even more refreshing. Either way, it is delicious.
