Pork loin in orange sauce is a bright, comforting main dish that comes together in about half an hour. The pork is seared quickly so it stays juicy, then finished in a glossy sauce built from sweet onion, carrot, garlic, white wine and fresh orange.

The orange does double duty here: its zest adds a fragrant lift while its juice brings a gentle tang that balances the savory pork. A little chicken broth rounds everything out, and blending the sauce gives it a velvety body that clings to every slice.

5. Build the orange sauce

From 1 orange, grate about ¼ of its zest, then squeeze it to get 80 ml of orange juice. Add the zest and juice to the skillet along with 100 ml of chicken broth, bring to a boil, lower the heat and cook for 10 more minutes.

6. Blend the sauce

Blend the sauce until it reaches the texture you like. You can leave it completely smooth and lump-free, or keep a little texture for a pleasant contrast of flavors and textures.

7. Warm the pork in the sauce and serve

Return the sauce to the skillet with its juices, add the reserved pork and warm everything together for 5 minutes. After that, this delicious dish is ready to serve.

Tips for the Best Pork Loin in Orange Sauce

Sear first, finish in the sauce

To get the meat just right, sear it quickly in a hot oiled skillet and finish cooking it in the sauce. This keeps the pork juicy and gives it a rich, golden crust.

Choose your sauce texture

Blending the sauce gives it a velvety body, but you can leave it chunky or blend it very fine depending on what you prefer. Each option brings a slightly different feel to the plate.

Pick a simple side

Boiled basmati rice or fried potatoes are our favorite accompaniments for this pork loin. Both are great for soaking up the extra orange sauce.
