Build a shelf with pallets to organize your garden tools, sometimes we think that we have to spend a lot of money if we want to make a piece of furniture, but that is not the case. The pallets are being reused for these purposes, we just have to know what we should do and how to give them a second life, in this case to turn it into a garden tool shelf.
Materials to use:
- 100 grm sandpaper
- Wood sandpaper Nº180
- Reinforcement squad
- Hooks
- Metal paint
- Pallet
1. Take a draw
- To shape the shelf we have to remove the 1st, 3rd and 5th board from the pallet, from top to bottom, which will later be used to make a compartment with a door at the top.
- To remove the boards you can use a devil, but be careful not to break the boards.
- Then, with the back of the hammer, remove the excess nails.

2. Sand
- To eliminate imperfections, splinters and impurities, use #100 sandpaper over the entire structure.
- Then, to make the surface smoother, use #180 sandpaper as a finish.

3. Paint
- To keep the structure weatherproof, we recommend painting it. It can be with a Stain impregnant or with Paint.
- In this case we use a paint for metals, which also works for wood, and is more resistant.
- We apply the first coat diluted to 50% and the second coat undiluted.
- Respect the drying times indicated by the manufacturer on the packaging.

4. Upper compartment

- At the top, measure the distance between pillars (which may vary depending on the size of the pallet) and cut one of the boards that we took out previously.

- Stick a piece into each of the spaces, this will be the floor of the compartment.
- These pieces are fixed with 4 reinforcement brackets to the pillars.

- The second board that we take out we put as the top cover or roof. It is attached to the structure with screws.

- The third plank is to make a door. It is attached to the compartment floor with two large or 4 small door hinges.

- Put a handle on the front to be able to open and close
5. Final details

- So that the structure maintains its shape, in the lower corners and at the back, we are going to put 2 more reinforcement blocks, one on each side.

- Finally, to be able to hang the tools, put eyebolts and hooks in different parts of the structure, depending on the type and size of tools you have.
6. Hang up

- As the reinforcement brackets have 3 faces, the ones at the top have one face that faces the wall, in which place the screws to fix it to the wall.
