Manufacturing a sliding door from an interior door, a sliding door, is a good option to avoid losing space, so from a light interior door we will see how to make a sliding one.
Materials:
- 2 doors
- Aluminum “U” profile
- Mounting adhesive
- Immediate grip mounting adhesive
- Guide rail
- Sealing primer
- Acrylic enamel
- Handle handles
- 50 x 30 mm pine strip
- 4 x 90 lag bolts
- 4 mm methacrylate
Step 1
To cover our hole we will use two doors. The first thing we will have to do is mark and cut the doors to size, with the help of the circular saw.
To work more cleanly we will attach the vacuum cleaner to the tool.

Step 2
At the top of the doors we will put the hardware plates, so we will have to make some holes to insert the screws.
To carry out this work we will use the drill, a drill bit of the same diameter as the lag screws and the drill bit stop.

Step 3
As we are going to put some guides on the floor, at the bottom of the doors we will make a channel, from one end to the other, in this case 6 mm thick.
The circular saw blade is 2 mm, so we will have to make several passes until we get the right channel.

Step 4
Now we are going to give color to the doors, but first we will cover the pores of the wood with a sealing primer; In this way, we will save on the finish.
After sanding the surface, we remove the dust with a piece of paper and apply the sealing primer with a foam roller.
We protect our hands with latex gloves.

Step 5
When the filler has dried, we apply two coats of a water-based acrylic enamel, in our case white, respecting the drying and repainting times indicated by the manufacturer.

Step 6
We let the enamel dry and place some "U" aluminum profiles, with which we will cover the cut areas.
We apply assembly adhesive to the inside of the pieces and put them in position, well flush.

Step 7
Next, we put the hardware on the upper part of the doors, securing them with some screws.

Step 8
In the upper part of the gap where we are going to install the sliding doors we are going to place a wooden strip, which will act as support for the rail.
We make some holes in both the strip and the wall, present the piece in its position and screw it in.
In our case the wall is made of wood, so inserting the screws directly will be enough.
If your wall is made of concrete, you will have to first insert some nylon plugs.

Step 9
Now we will fix the guide with the wheels on the support. We present the piece in its position, hold it provisionally with a vice and insert the central lag screw.
Then, we remove the clamp and continue placing the rest of the lag screws.

Step 10
We can now start putting the doors in place. We insert the hardware that we have placed at the top of the door into the wheels and once we have adjusted the height of the door, we tighten the nuts with a wrench.
We will also put some stops at the ends of the guide.

Step 11
The next step is to place the guides on the ground.
We present the pieces in their position and with a pencil, we mark the fixing points.

Step 12
With the pro drillSeen from a widia drill bit of the same diameter as the plugs that we are going to use, in this case 5 mm, we make the holes.

Step 13
We remove the dust that may have been produced when drilling, insert some expansion plugs into the holes, with the help of a mallet and fix the guides with some screws.

Step 14
It's the shooters' turn. We present them on the door, mark the fixing points and secure them with the screws.
To carry out this task, we will need the drill and a suitable bit.

Step 15
To finish, we will cover the wooden slat and the metal guide with a decorative piece; We have opted for a piece of methacrylate.
We apply adhesive to the strip and present the methacrylate, pressing it so that it adheres well.
