Can't completely remove all unwanted body hair? This is an article we will teach you how to sharpen tweezers in an easy and simple way.
Note: These are instructions for sharpening the tweezers you buy at the drugstore to use on your body.
Tweezers for model making and detailed work often require a different, sharper, narrower point than this method will provide.
#1: Materials

To sharpen the tweezers you will need:
- Duty tweezers
- Rough grit sandpaper (150 grit)
- Fine sandpaper (400 and/or 800 grit)
- A thin, flat piece of metal or glass
- A small amount of water
#2: Prepare the pencil sharpener

- Wrap the sandpaper around your soft, thin piece of material. You want just one coat over the backing material, don't wrap the sandpaper more than once.
- Usually, glass covered with sandpaper is used to put an edge on a metal surface because glass is typically very smooth and very flat. Here I used a very thin sheet of aluminum because it is almost as flat and smooth as glass, and it is thinner than the glass I had lying around.
- You want to choose something thin to hold the sandpaper because that will allow you to keep the tweezers in the correct position while you sharpen them.
#3: Sand with the coarse grain paper

- With the rough sandpaper wrapped around the backing material, take the tweezers and "grab" the sandpaper. While applying pressure to the tweezers, move them up and down over the sandpaper.
- This will remove any serious irregularities in the tips so you can move on to finer sanding and sharpening in the next step.
- If your tweezers are not in very bad condition, you can skip this step and go directly to fine sharpening.
#4: Fine and sharp sanding

- I like to use a wet/dry sandpaper while sharpening objects.
- Soak your fine sandpaper in some water and then wrap it around your backing material as you did with the coarser grit paper. Again, “grab” the sandpaper with the tweezers and apply pressure. Now, just as you did with the rough grit, move the tweezers in an up and down motion over the sandpaper.
- You are trying to flatten the edge of the tip of the tweezers, so try to apply pressure to the last millimeter of the tweezers.
- It will quickly prepare a slurry, a mixture of metal and water, this will help in the sharpening process, so do not wash it.
- Make a few more passes with the tweezers once you get some mud and you've probably sharpened it enough.
#5: Sand the end of the pliers

- The last step is to sand the ends of the tweezer tips.
- Squeeze the two tips together and place them on the fine sandpaper so that the angle on the pliers meets the sandpaper along the entire length of the tip. (Basically pretend you are standing with the tweezers flat on their edge on top of the sandpaper.)
- Then carefully drag the tweezers across the sandpaper while maintaining the same angle.
- It will only take a few back and forth strokes, unless the tips of the tweezers are really bad.
#6: Enjoy your tool again

- Everything ready to use again
- Try it by pulling on something and see the improvement.
- If it's not to your liking, simply go back and make a fine adjustment on the fine sandpaper.
