Researchers believe this device is more efficient at producing water than some other forms that do not require electricity. When tested in Death Valley, which is often considered one of the hottest places on Earth, the device produced a quarter to two-thirds of a cup of water each day. Its design also minimized the amount of lithium salt that leaked into the water, allowing it to remain pure without additional treatment.

However the ability to create water out of thin air is extremely useful and could one day prove to be a vital way for some countries to produce water for their residents. However, more testing is needed to ensure that these systems prove viable in the long term.
