Build a room divider for a garden, it is a planter that can be used at one end of the balcony, or in a strategic area as a room divider. Thanks to the fact that it is vertical, its space demand is minimal, and it has a treillage to hang flower pots, an area to put rectangular pots, and a hidden space for storage.
Materials to use:
- 2” tips
- Wood screws 2»
- 2×1” brushed pine, 2
- Brushed pine board 6×1″, 3
- Wood sandpaper No. 180, 3
- Bright Metal Enamel
- Screws 1 1/4″
- Cold cola
- Pot holder, 4
- Rectangle planter 40 cm, 2
1 cut the wood
- To cut wood you can use a miter saw that has the possibility of moving its blade to adjust the angle at which you want to cut.

2 assemble the front and back of the drawer
- Present the 80 cm pieces of 1x6" brushed pine boards to assemble the front and back of the drawer, 4 for each of the parts. These boards must be spaced 1 cm apart, so use guides so that the distances are equal.
- These pieces are attached horizontally to the legs, which are the 1 x 2” sticks. These legs must protrude 2 centimeters under the drawer so that it is separated from the floor.
- The fixings are made with 1 ¼ screws, and from the inside of the legs so as not to expose them. We repeat the operation to make the sides, but this time they will have a ribbon in the center.
- Join the four faces of the drawer with cold glue and 2” nails that are nailed to the legs.

3 assemble the sides of the drawer
- Present the 21.5 cm pieces of 1×6” brushed pine boards to assemble the 2 sides of the drawer, 4 for each of them. These boards should be spaced 1 cm apart, so use guides so that the distances are equal.
- These pieces are attached horizontally to the legs, which are fixed to the center of the side with 1 1 x 2" stick. These legs must protrude 2 centimeters under the drawer so that they are separated from the floor.
- The fixings are made with 1 ¼ screws, and from the inside of the legs so as not to expose them.

4 joins the parts
- Join the 2 sides, the front and the back of the drawer (its 4 faces) with cold glue and 2” tips that are nailed to the legs.

5 assemble the treillage
- Present 9 80 cm cuts of the 1×6" boards to form the treillage of the planter. Leave a separation of 7 cm between them, because those spaces will be used to hang flowerpot holders.
- Join these pieces with the 2 x 2” sticks as pillars, fixed at the back with cold glue and screws. Countersink the pillars at least 1.5 cm so that the screws are flush with the wood.

6 sandpaper
- This procedure has two purposes: to generate an adherent surface that is soft to the touch, and also to eliminate sharp edges. In addition, the possibility of splinters appearing is reduced.
- Use an orbital sander, which we implement with #180 sandpaper. Finally shake off the dust with a dry brush.

7 protects the structure
- The protection of wood is always important, especially in this case as it is a piece of furniture that will be exposed to the elements, and to the watering of the flower pots.
- Use a metal enamel with a finish, a fairly resistant paint, designed for metals that will be outdoors, but the manufacturer also recommends its use on wood.
- The color chosen is white so that it is visually bright and easy to combine, and it is applied with a brush and sponge roller.

8 unites the drawer and the treillage
- Join both parts by fixing the treillage on the back of the drawer with 2” screws.
