Unique Design for a Wooden Garden Seat, you can never have too many seats in the garden, and my wife planted some fruit trees (grapefruit, plum and banana). So I had a couple of hours free and some leftover wood from other projects.
I'm terrible at estimating how much wood I need to make things and I always order too much of it...
Step 1: Materials and tools

- A pair of 2.4 m fence posts
- Some 4×2 (around 9m)
- Decoration
- Nails (150 mm – 6 inches and 75 mm – 3 inches)
- Cutting saw
- Hammer
- Level
- Tape measure
- Drill
- Post digger
Step 2: Cut the rails and legs

I cut 6 lengths of 4x2 for the 1.5m long rails, to make them a little more aesthetically pleasing (i.e. less chunky) I cut a 45 degree bevel on each end.
I also cut 6 pieces of 4x4 for the legs, these were 800mm long (so I could get 3 of each post)
Step 3: Make the frames

I nailed the rails (2) to the legs (2) using 6 inch delicate nail joinery.
Step 4: Rethinking

I put the frames in position and measured the angle between them using a large protractor 120 degrees between them.
This gave me the positions to dig the holes
Step 5: Dig!

I used my old post hole digger to make the holes, this thing, despite being 50+ years old, is so efficient at digging, planting, etc.
The chicken was a big help!
Step 6: Frames in position

Everything placed at a comfortable sitting height and level
Step 7: Planning the seat base

I'm not a big fan of straight lines, so...
Using a couple of pieces of scrap metal and a long piece of plastic conduit, plus a couple of nails, I planned out the curves of the seat I wanted.
Then I used it as a template to cut the deck.
Step 8: Decking Nailed and Cut to Shape

I nailed all the deck pieces together with 75mm nails and marked the curves with a sharpie/marker (depending on which country you are in!)
Then I cut the curve with a saw. I just need the wood finishing one, I guess...
