Realme GT 8: On Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Elite – Coming in Octobera 2026

Realme is preparing to officially launch the new GT 8 series in October, which will include the GT 8 and the more powerful GT 8 Pro.

Before the official unveiling, the base model made an appearance on Geekbench, revealing some technical features.

The base Realme GT 8 (codename RMX6699, China version) was tested with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Qualcomm's current flagship version before Gen 5. On the other hand, the GT 8 Pro will incorporate the all-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which promises up to 20% improvement in CPU performance over its predecessor.

Indeed, the new Gen 5 chip was recently tested in a GT 8 Pro prototype, with impressive results.

The test was run on the new Geekbench 6.5.0 version, with scores hovering around the expected levels for the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The tested model had 16GB of RAM, although the base version may start at 12GB.

It should be noted that most of the previous measurements were done on Geekbench 6.4.0, so direct comparisons may differ slightly.

An interesting tidbit is that the phone was running Android 15, which suggests it may be running early software or a test ROM. However, the final version of the GT 8 Pro is expected to launch with Android 16 and Realme UI 7.0.

The device was recently certified by 3C for 100W wired charging. Comparing to previous generations, the GT 7 in China supported 100W charging with a 7,200mAh (Si/C) battery, while the global version had 120W charging but a smaller 7,000mAh battery. This leads us to expect variations by market for the GT 8 series as well.
