How much help should we provide to a friend in need, especially when the request has become a recurring demand is a common dilemma faced by many. Today, we’re going to be looking at the story of one 20-year-old woman grappling with this exact issue. In this AITA post on reddit, our OP (original poster) generously was offering rides to her 22-year-old friend whenever he was in need of them. However, his dependence grew rapidly, despite having a license but no truck – and also refusing to buy one. He basically depended on OP for a 40-50 mile ride for work everyday so much that OP has had to sacrifice her own time at work for it. Here’s the whole story:

OP’s actions were always kind, considerate and showed genuine care for her friend. However, the situation became unfair when the friend kept asking for rides even when it wasn’t convenient for her. OP’s friend didn’t even offer to chip in for the cost of gas, making it even more unfair. Imagine someone constantly mooching off of you and being a freeloader without even offering to bear any of the financial burden. That is quite inconsiderate and totally not cool.
