Fantastic “S” Shaped Cat House and Tunnels, this is your new cat house that is lined inside and out with recycled carpets and finished with a wooden pallet liner. It took him a little time to get used to the house, but he loves playing in it and even more, he loves sleeping in it. Overall, it ended up being 3' tall, 2.5' wide, and 1' deep.
Step 1: Collection of Materials and Tools:
Materials:
- (1) Sheet of 3/8″ plywood
- 3/4″ pieces of wood
- Wood glue
- Rug
- Spray adhesive
- Flaxseed oil
Tools:
- Tape measure
- Drywall
- Compass
- Squads
- Circular saw
- Orbital Saw
- Upper belt sander
- Router and Patterns
- Table saw
- Miter Saw
- Nail gun
- Nail gun
- Air compressor
- Band saw
- Wooden ruler
- Random orbital sander
Step 2: Draw and cut the «S»

Start with a piece of wood, drawing a reduced sketch of the shape. This will help you determine the correct proportions.
Transfer to a piece of plywood. Use the 3/8″ plywood as this will be the frame and will have another finished wood skin attached to it. Draw all straight lines and use a compass for larger curves.
Cut all straight lines and use a jig saw to cut curves.
Sand the edges lightly with my and then use the first "S" as a template to make another one.
Step 3: Install the structure

The two S's are first kept apart along the straight edges of them. Cut pieces 12″ wide and the length of the straight edges, then cut the dice on them to fit over the edge of the other plywood. You can see the slot at the bottom of the panel here, it's a little overhang for the carpet you'll see later. These are held in place with nails.
Now to go around the curves, have some pieces of pine about 2″ wide and install the ones in place with glue and staples.
Step 4: Install the carpet

The inner carpet layer goes first. First cut the correct width and then glue the back and support pieces inside the S with spray adhesive. With the carpet completely placed on the inside, install the rest of the wood pieces in place and then proceed to the outside surface of the S. Do the same with the carpet on the outside (this is all done in 4 strips).
Step 5: Installing the siding

Mark the pieces, cut them to size, apply glue and spread the edge of the rug, nail the pieces into place. And then do the same on the back…
Step 6: Cut and sand the holes

Now, for the kitten to access the inside of the S, mark a circle on each level with the compass and then cut out with a jigsaw. The exterior surface is sanded smooth and the corners of all openings are rounded to remove all sharp edges.
Step 7: Finishing

For the finish, linseed oil was applied to the outside of the front and back to darken and protect the wood.
Step 8: Enjoy
