Air-fried chicken thighs turn out amazing : tender, juicy, and with no oil at all. An irresistible treat that's quick to make and can be served with potatoes, rice, vegetables, salad...
The air fryer has many advantages: it doesn't need to be preheated like an oven, it's a clean and fast cooking method, and being programmable, we can do other things while it cooks.
With this recipe, we can prepare any other part of the chicken , although we don't particularly recommend the breast, as it tends to dry out more. For the other pieces, we need to adjust the cooking time according to their thickness. So, if we want to prepare thighs, we increase the cooking time by 5 minutes; on the other hand, if we're cooking wings, we reduce the cooking time by 5 minutes.
This time, we'll cook six chicken thighs or drumsticks, a good amount for two or three people, depending on their appetites. We'll give them a light breading and a touch of lemon , which we can adjust to our liking.
The herbs are also adaptable to what we have in the pantry: in this case, we'll use thyme, but any herb will work. We encourage you to try different spice combinations; the preparation is the same, and varying the flavors is always interesting.

Ingredients for chicken thighs cooked in an air fryer
- 6 chicken thighs
- 1 lemon
- 40g of breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of salt

How to make chicken thighs in an air fryer
We put 6 chicken thighs in a large container and sprinkle them with the juice of 1 lemon.

In a bowl, mix 40g of breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of dried thyme, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Optionally, you can add a little lemon zest.

We sprinkle these seasonings over the chicken and mix it with our hands, pressing lightly so that the bread adheres to the drumsticks.

We placed the chicken pieces in the air fryer basket. We cooked at 180°C for 15 minutes.

After that time, we turn the drumsticks over and program the fryer for another 15 minutes at 180ºC.

Optionally, we can retrieve the toasted crumbs left in the bucket and serve them to accompany the chicken, as they are delicious.

We serve the chicken thighs freshly cooked.
