Any meat lover will surely count oven-roasted or barbecued pork ribs among their favorite dishes . This is a star recipe, although it usually requires patience, both for the time needed for marinating and for cooking.
To shorten cooking time, an air fryer is a great ally. In just 20 minutes, you'll have perfect ribs, so you can make them quickly on a weekday if you marinate them in the morning or even overnight.
The marinade can be adapted to individual tastes and what you have in your pantry. Today we've opted for the one described below with honey, although a simple store-bought barbecue sauce can also work well, as can a mixture of garlic, paprika, oil, vinegar, and bay leaf.
If we need to make more ribs than the recipe calls for, we'll have to roast them in batches. In this case, ideally, we should give them all an initial 15-minute cook and then finish with another 5 minutes, so we can enjoy the first batch freshly cooked while the second batch finishes.

Ingredients for pork ribs cooked in an air fryer
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 800g of pork ribs

How to make pork ribs in an air fryer
We begin by preparing the marinade: in a large bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.

Add 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of tomato paste, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Stir well until everything is thoroughly combined.

We cut 800g of pork ribs into pieces so that we can fit them well in the air fryer.

Coat the ribs well with the marinade and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow them to absorb the flavors. Overnight would be ideal.

We put the ribs in the fryer basket, with the meat side down and program 15 minutes at 180ºC.

When the cooking time is over, turn them over and program for 5 more minutes at the same temperature.

Before removing the ribs, we check that they are fully cooked, and if not, we leave them for a few more minutes. As soon as they are ready, we remove them from the fryer, chop them, and serve them freshly made.
