Blueberry mousse is one of those desserts that feels both effortless and elegant. With just five ingredients and ten minutes of hands-on work, you get a silky, airy treat that tastes like a special occasion. The hardest part is waiting for it to set in the fridge.

This recipe works beautifully with either fresh or frozen blueberries, so you can make it any time of year. The natural tartness of the berries balances the sweetened whipped cream, creating a dessert that is rich but never heavy. It is a French-style mousse that fits right into a Spanish sweet table.

Serve it in individual cups or bowls for a fuss-free finish to any meal. If you like, you can dress it up with extra berries or a swirl of whipped cream. Either way, it is a dessert that disappears fast.
Ingredients for Blueberry Mousse
This recipe makes 3 servings.
- 2 sheets of unflavored gelatin
- 150 g blueberries
- 110 ml heavy whipping cream (35% fat)
- 70 g powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon water

How to Make Blueberry Mousse Step by Step
1. Hydrate the gelatin
In a bowl of cold water, soak the 2 sheets of unflavored gelatin for at least 10 minutes. This softens them so they dissolve smoothly later.

2. Clean and puree the blueberries
Meanwhile, wash 150 g of blueberries and blend them until you get a puree. You can set aside a few whole berries for decoration. Set the puree aside.

3. Whip the cream with powdered sugar
Whip 110 ml of heavy cream with a whisk and gradually add 70 g of powdered sugar while beating until you have whipped cream.

4. Dissolve the gelatin and mix with the blueberry puree
Heat 1 tablespoon of water for a few seconds in the microwave or in a small saucepan, then dissolve the hydrated gelatin in it, stirring well. Next, mix the dissolved gelatin with the reserved blueberry puree.

5. Fold in the whipped cream
Add the whipped cream to the blueberry mixture little by little, using a spatula and folding gently until you have a homogeneous mixture.

6. Divide into cups and chill until set
Divide the mixture among 3 dessert glasses or bowls, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight or for at least 3 hours until the mousse is set and ready to serve.

Tips for the Best Blueberry Mousse
Make it extra special
If you prefer a more complete dessert with a pleasant mix of textures, crumble some cookies into the bottom of the glasses. You can also top this mousse with whipped cream, making it a hearty dessert that is, if possible, even more irresistible.
Get the perfect fluffy texture
For a fluffy mousse, whip the cream well. To do this, chill the cream in the fridge well in advance so it is very cold and whips properly. After beating for 5 minutes, the cream will have the texture we need for a perfect mousse.
Decorating and freezing
If using fresh blueberries, you can reserve a few for decoration. If using frozen ones, one option is to set aside a little of the puree to decorate the glasses at the end. This blueberry mousse can be frozen without the decoration. The day before, transfer it to the fridge to thaw slowly, and it will be ready to serve at dessert time.
