Threaded with red, yellow and green pepper and chunks of red onion, the skewers look as bright as they taste. A quick sear on a grill pan gives the salmon a golden crust while keeping the inside juicy, and a squeeze of lemon with fresh parsley ties everything together.

How to Make Salmon Skewers Step by Step

1. Cut the salmon

Cut 300 g of salmon fillet into cubes of about 3 cm per side. Keep the pieces roughly the same size so they cook evenly on the skewers.

2. Cut the peppers and onion

Wash and dry 1 red pepper, 1 yellow pepper and 1 green pepper, remove the seeds and cut them into pieces the same size as the salmon. Peel 1 red onion and cut it into 4 pieces.

3. Assemble the skewers

Build the skewers by alternating all the cut ingredients, mixing the salmon with the peppers and onion so every skewer is colorful and balanced.

4. Cook the skewers in the pan

Brush the skewers with olive oil, heat a grill pan and cook them for 4 minutes, then turn them and cook for 4 more minutes. Meanwhile, cut 1 lemon in half and brown it briefly in the same pan.

5. Season and serve

Season the salmon skewers by drizzling over a little lemon juice and sprinkling with 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley leaves, salt and ground black pepper, then serve.

Tips for the Best Salmon Skewers

Serve them with a fresh sauce

These skewers are very flavorful on their own, but they also work beautifully with a gremolata or a pesto made from an aromatic herb such as basil or cilantro.

Brown on both sides

For the perfect texture, brown the skewers on both sides so the salmon stays juicy. Keep an eye on the time and do not overcook them.

Keep the pieces even

Cutting the salmon and vegetables to the same size helps everything cook at the same rate, so the fish stays tender while the peppers soften slightly.
