If you thought a great brownie needed a big oven, this air fryer brownie is here to change your mind. It comes out with shiny, set edges and a soft, fudgy center that tastes every bit as good as the oven-baked version, and it is ready in about 25 minutes from start to finish.

The batter is built on melted dark chocolate and butter, sweetened with sugar, and lifted with just a small amount of flour and cocoa so the crumb stays dense and moist. A touch of vanilla rounds out the flavor, and you only need one bowl and a whisk to bring it all together.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Brownie

Do not overcook the center

For a really moist crumb, do not bake this brownie longer than needed. It should be done at the edges but not fully set in the middle, since the residual heat will finish the job and give it that classic brownie texture. To check it, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few crumbs and not completely clean.

Use any oven-safe mold

To “bake” the brownie in the air fryer you can use any mold that is oven-safe. A silicone mold lined with parchment paper works well and makes unmolding easier, but an aluminum or glass mold is just as good.

Cool it fully before cutting

It is also important to let the brownie cool inside the mold. Leaving it to rest overnight in the fridge makes it much easier to cut into squares. If you have one, use a plastic knife to cut it, and you will notice the difference, as the brownie crumbles far less.
